Ready to Pop the Question on the Big Island of Hawaii?
You have the ring and now it’s time to plan your proposal. You have an idea of how and when you’d like to do it: on your beautiful Hawaii vacation! The backdrop of the Big Island’s beauty will be perfect, but how in the world will you find someone in Hawaii to capture the proposal? This is where I come in! Tell me your plan and I will help you work out the details, and we will pre-arrange where you will do it, and what the signal will be for me that you’re about to propose!
In this sweet proposal, Landon told me he was going to take Kim out to dinner at Lava Lava Beach Club, walk down the beach, and propose. I told him I’d be standing nearby with my camera, taking photos of the scenery. He sent me a photo of the shirt that he’d be wearing, so I could recognize him. Our signal would be the moment that he pointed to something out at sea . . . that’s when I’d notice from the corner of my eye and train my zoom lens on the couple.
It worked like a charm! Landon got down on one knee and Kim was completely surprised! I was there, capturing it all from a distance. After they had hugged, kissed, cried and celebrated, Landon pointed me out and I walked over to introduce myself and let Kim know that I’d be happy to take some engagement photos for them if she’d like. She was excited, and we captured these beautiful images immediately after the proposal.
You can read in this post about another way to capture a proposal–working into a photo shoot with me! Both options are great. Which one do you like best? Let me know if I can help you out with your own surprise proposal while you’re in Hawaii!
